What is a Google Maps QR code?

A Google Maps QR code encodes an address, place name, or set of coordinates using the official Google Maps search URL. When someone scans it with their phone camera, Google Maps opens with your location already searched, ready for directions.

How it works

Enter an address, place name, or coordinates, then generate a QR code. Scanning it opens Google Maps with your location pre-filled, no manual typing required.

FAQ

Do I need a Google API key?
No. This generator does not use the Google Maps API, so no API key, billing account, or sign-up is required.
Can I use an address or coordinates?
Yes. You can enter a full address, a place name such as a landmark or business, or coordinates like 3.1390,101.6869.
What happens when someone scans the QR code?
Their phone opens Google Maps (or their browser) with your address, place, or coordinates already searched, ready for directions.
Does Google Maps need to be installed?
No. The QR code links to a standard Google Maps search URL, so it opens in the Google Maps app if installed, or in a web browser otherwise.
Does the QR code expire?
No. The QR code encodes your search query directly, so it works for as long as the location remains valid on Google Maps.
Is my location data uploaded anywhere?
No. The QR code is generated entirely in your browser using JavaScript. What you type is never sent to a server.

Privacy note: Generated in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.
